How do I collect GDPR consent?
Because consent under the GDPR is such an important issue, it's mandatory that you both collect consent in a compliant way, and keep clear records of that consent. This means that:
- Your GDPR compliant forms must clearly inform the user of your purpose, link to your privacy policy, and collect opt-in consent specific to each individual purpose. See practical examples of how to set up your email and newsletter forms here.
- Your records of consent should include when and how consent was acquired from the individual user; exactly what the user was told at the time; and which conditions/legal documents were applicable at the time at which the consent was acquired.
How do I collect a valid GDPR proof of consent with the Consent Database?
The Consent Database allows you to save consent actions performed by your users and to store all the information necessary to hold a proof. These consent actions result in a series of values saved about your subjects/users, which you can easily review with a visual dashboard. These values include the user's preferences (newsletter, profiling, etc) that each consent section has modified.
