The Owner uses campaigning software called NationBuilder as a data processor to run its websites and organise the information it holds on clients as well as other supporters and prospects in relation to the films and campaigns it is involved in. 3DNA Corp, the company behind NationBuilder, complies fully with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.
NationBuilder also uses cookies, clear GIFs, log file information, and sub-processors as stated in their own Privacy Policy and their Data Processing Addendum.
The private control panel of NationBuilder allows the Owner to keep track of conversations with a User across email, social media posts, and manually logged contacts.
NationBuilder may also help the Owner look up a User on social media services by their email address, in order to retrieve a profile images, job title, or short biography and thus provide context for the conversations. Permissions for such a look-up by email address are set by Users directly with the respective social media service (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook).
As a fundraising organisation we carry out targeted fundraising activity, and as part of our new major donor fundraising activities we will undertake research into supporters and prospective supporters who may have an interest in, and financial ability to, support our work. We may also use trusted external screening/profiling companies such as ‘Factary’ and/or ‘Prospecting for Gold’ to undertake this research.
This research will compare the information held on our own database with publicly available information such as listed Directorships or trusteeships, ‘Rich Lists’, donations to other organisations and measures of affluence such as typical earnings in a given profession. This helps us to target our communications in a more focused, personalised and cost effective way by giving us greater insight into what donors and prospective donors may find interesting and the level of support they may be able to provide.
You will always have the right to opt out of this processing. Please contact info@scottishdocinstitute.com if you have any questions or would prefer that we did not use your details in this way.
The Owner of the Scottish Documentary Institute website or other website hosted by SDI may have legitimately collected Personal Data relating to Users without their knowledge by reusing or sourcing them from third parties on the grounds mentioned in the section specifying the legal basis of processing.
Where the Owner has collected Personal Data in such a manner, Users may find specific information regarding the source within the relevant sections of this document or by contacting the Owner.
